Gastonia has served as a regional provider of wholesale water and wastewater services to surrounding municipalities for more than three decades. In 2011, the merger of Gastonia's and the Town of Cramerton's water and wastewater systems initiated the formation of a formal regional utility, named Two Rivers Utilities.
Two Rivers Utilities provides water and wastewater services to residents of Gastonia, Bessemer City, High Shoals, Stanley, Cramerton, McAdenville, Ranlo, Clover, S.C. and portions of Lowell, Belmont, Dallas, and Kings Mountain. The water treatment facility processes about 5 billion gallons of water per year. There are three wastewater treatment facilities – Long Creek, Crowders Creek, and Eagle Rd.
The water treatment facility, all three wastewater treatment facilities, and the Resource Recovery Farm have received the designation as an Environmental Steward from the state of North Carolina.
If you are a City of Gastonia utility customer and have an after-hours emergency with your utility service, please call: 704-866-6843.
