Gastonia, N.C. - December 13, 2021 - Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department have charged Jamari Deshon Adams, age 19, of Gastonia and Patrick Daniel Camp, age 37, of Gastonia with armed robbery-related offenses for a November 12 robbery at a business in Gastonia. Adams was later determined to have been the same suspect who committed a similar armed robbery at the same business in June.
On June 26, GPD officers responded to a business in the 3900 block of E. Franklin Avenue for an armed robbery with shots fired that just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that the male suspect entered the business, discharged two rounds from his handgun into the ceiling and wall of the business, and stole money from patrons inside the business. After the robbery, the suspect fled on foot. No patrons or employees were struck by the gunfire.
At approximately 7:21 p.m. on November 12, GPD officers responded to a business in the 3900 block of E. Franklin Avenue for an attempted armed robbery of a business that just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that two suspects (one of whom was armed with a handgun), entered the business and attempted to rob an employee of business proceeds. The suspects fled from the business without obtaining any money or property. Witnesses provided officers with a physical description of both suspects.
A GPD K9 officer and his partner tracked the suspects to the 3900 block of Gardner Ridge Drive. GPD officers in that area located two individuals who matched the suspect’s descriptions and identified them as Adams and Camp. Officers located a loaded handgun that had been reported as stolen from Dallas, North Carolina. Adams and Camp were arrested and charged for this armed robbery.
The investigation by detectives determined that Adams is the same suspect who committed the June 26 robbery at the same business. He was recently charged with that armed robbery.
