Gastonia Police K-9 Bo Wins Top Dog Award at American Humane Hero Dog Awards 2024

 

Gastonia, NC - The Gastonia Police Department is thrilled to announce that K-9 Bo, a dedicated and highly skilled bloodhound, has won the prestigious Top Dog award at the 2024 American Humane Hero Dog Awards. This national award celebrates extraordinary canines that make a difference in their communities and highlights Bo’s exceptional contributions to public safety in Gastonia.  The announcement was televised nationally on NBC’s Today Show this morning. 

Bo, a puppy member of the department’s K-9 unit, has demonstrated unwavering dedication to search and rescue operations, tracking suspects, and locating missing persons. With his keen sense of smell and extensive training, Bo has been an invaluable partner in countless cases, providing crucial support to officers in the field. His work embodies the commitment and courage celebrated by the American Humane Hero Dog Awards, and this honor underscores Bo's remarkable impact on the lives of those he serves.  Video and photos of Bo here.
