Engineering

The Engineering Department administers the Subdivision Ordinances, Site Plan Policies and the City Flood Hazard Program. In addition, the division assigns new addresses, permits water and sewer expansion projects, inspect construction projects for compliance with City policies and standards and acquires right of way for City projects.

As well, we provide services including traffic engineering, survey, design, and project management of public infrastructure projects such as: water, sewer, streets, sidewalks, parks, buildings, and other capital improvement projects constructed by the City of Gastonia.

This department also provides engineering support to other City departments in the maintenance and daily operation of City facilities and infrastructure. We're located at the Garland Municipal Business Center right beside City Hall.
