The Adult Recreation Center offers a wide-variety of classes, dances, programs and special events throughout the year. Those programs include, but are not limited to:- Adult fitness classes
- Adult dance classes
- Senior Games
- Ceramics
- Billiards
- Special populations programs and dances
- Special events and dances
In 1980, this former National Guard Armory was renovated to create the Adult Recreation Center, which serves as a base for a full program of activities for Gastonia’s senior citizens. A variety of instructional classes and leisure activities are offered to all adults age 50 or better. The Center conducts periodic trips to special events and points of interest, provides evening dances, seasonal parties and other entertainment. The building contains a 4,000 square foot social / event hall with a stage, meeting room, lounge, ceramics room, pool room, kitchen and staff offices.
Hours of Operation: 8AM – 5PM, Monday-Thursday, and 8AM-12PM on Friday.
This facility may be rented by families, churches, companies or other groups for a variety of social and business functions.
