Gastonia, N.C. - May 10, 2023: Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department have charged 25-year-old Quinton Payne Palmer-Whitesides of Vale, North Carolina for the April 29 murder of 25-year-old Demallon Lamarea Anthony White of Gastonia. Responding officers located White in a bedroom of the apartment suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately rendered first-aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived. White was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation detectives identified Palmer-Whitesides as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with murder.
Palmer-Whitesides was arrested yesterday afternoon in Cleveland County. He was transported to the Gaston County Jail and is being held without bond.
